PKVA has partnered with several college and universities to offer you an affordable solution for dual enrollment courses. The college advisor will customize the college courses to meet the needs of a high school student. Each course includes videos, text, assignments, discussions, and more engaging user experiences fully incorporated into a single online course. The student will get the support from both the school and the college advisory.

  • What is credit recovery? Whom is it for ?
    Credit recovery courses are condensed form of the course. Any student who failed a course and needs to recover, may take it at our school. The student may recover the credit for Elementary, Middle, or High school.
  • Do you issue report cards? If so, when and how do we receive them?
    Once the Credit Recovery Course is completed, the student will get the report card.
  • How is Academic Integrity maintained at PK_12 Virtual Academy?
    An important feature of maintaining the Honor Code at PK-12 Virtual Academy is the academic integrity we expect from the students. All students are expected to research, read, and submit authentic work, not plagiarized. Copying someone else’s work, homework, quizzes, tests, and other graded work or giving someone else your own work to copy can result in a failing grade. All students must sign the “Acknowledgement” page on canvas during the registration in which the students agree to abide by the policies and procedures of PK-12 Virtual Academy. Teachers test the student original work through Discussions and Flipgrid as well.
  • Will you need my child's transcript to register for Credit Recovery?
    No.
  • What is the Credit Recovery Refund Policy?
    You must complete and pass the course in the program with 65% or higher within 10 months of your start date to receive credit for the course. No Refunds are issued for Credit Recovery, regardless of the grade earned or if you dropped the course.
  • Can you provide me with resources for your School's Polices?
  • What do Asynchronous sessions mean? What is self-paced learning
    Self-paced learning requires students to be independent learners. There are no teacher-led live sessions. Students may communicate with the teacher for any concerns. The academy offers one on one tutoring to assist the student @59/hour.
  • What is Academic Integrity and how do you maintain it at PKVA?

You have the option to Pay, Complete, and Pass a Credit Recovery Course for $349, if you did not pass or complete a course in the Self paced program. If the student withdraws after 30 Days=$1246 (Partial Refund) 60 Days= $897 (Partial Refund) 90 Days= $200 (Partial Refund)
  • Can you provide me with resources for your School's Polices?
  • What does part-time instruction mean?
    Most homeschooling parents assist the child with the instruction. PK-12 Virtual Academy offers live teacher-led sessions to assist the students twice a week in Math and English-reading. Data shows that the teacher-led instructions help students understand better.
  • Do you offer Live Virtual Teacher Led Classes?
    Yes in our Full-Time and Part-Time Programs. We are the only Virtual school currently offering this.
  • Can the student switch to Full-time Learning after a month?
    Yes, If the student needs more help with the instruction, parent can pay the tuition for full-time and switch right away. This service os included in our Full-Time and Part-Time Programs We are the only Virtual school currently offering this.
  • What is the Part-Time Learning Refund Policy?
    You must complete and pass each course in the program with 65% or higher within 10 months of your start date. IF YOU DO NOT pass a course, You will Not get the credit for that course. You have the option to Pay, Complete, and Pass a Credit Recovery Course for $349, if you did not pass or complete a course in the Part-Time Learning program. There are NO Refunds issued for Part-Time Learning. You can withdraw from the program at any time and you will no longer be charged the monthly fee for the program. Note; If you withdraw early and HAVE NOT completed and passed the 4 courses, you will NOT receive credit for your courses. If YOU HAVE passed and completed all 4 courses early, you will receive credits for the courses and end the program. Your card will no longer be charged the monthly fee. If you wish to move on to 4 more new courses you can signup and enroll in a new program to continue your academic journey with us. We encourage and welcome accelerated students!
  • Can you provide me with resources for your School's Polices?
  • Do you offer Live Virtual Teacher Led Classes in Full time Learning?
    Yes in our Full-Time and Part-Time Programs. In Full time learning, students will experience 4-5 hours of school from Monday to Thursday. Teachers offer synchronous instruction, live sessions every day.
  • What is the schedule for a typical virtual school day?
    A typical school day looks like a regular school day from 9am to 2pm Monday through Thursday. Meeting links will be sent on Microsoft Teams by the teacher in charge. Federal Holidays are observed.
  • Is there a break in the school day for lunch?
    Yes, We offer one hour lunch break.
  • What happens if the students do not see the teacher in the classroom?
    There might be an emergency situation or technology issues when the teacher is unable to join the classroom. A substitute teacher will conduct the class in that situation. Please report any issues by calling 1-954-224-9699 or email @ info@pk12virtual.com
  • Do you observe USA Federal Holidays?
    PK-12 Virtual Academy observes all US-based Federal Holidays. There are no live sessions conducted by the teachers; however, students can catch up on their assignments virtually.
  • As a parent, can I see my child's current grades and the assignments anytime?
    Yes, all stakeholders are able to see the grades and missing assignments on the LMS at any time.
  • When do you issue the report cards?
    Students will receive their report cards every semester once the financial obligations have been met. Students may enroll in our school at anytime during the year.
  • How many classes do I need to take?
    You may take up to 6 courses at a time. You may complete them at your pace. Teachers will offer live instruction Monday through Thursday every week. The counselor highly recommends to take at least math and English courses.
  • Do I have to finish all my classes at a certain time ?
    A typical student can complete all the core classes within a school year. The student can take credit recovery if unable to complete the course within 10 months. The student may excel and complete the course earlier than expected; however full tuition is due regardless.
  • Do you issue report cards? If so, when and how do we receive them?
    Report cards are issued at the end of each semester as well. Financial obligations must be met though.
  • Do I need to provide any previous child's records or transcripts at the time of registration?
    You may provide previous records; however students would take NWEA-MAP assessment at the time of enrollment and every semester.
  • How many courses do I need to take to graduate from the academy?
    The student graduating from the academy must take at least 6 courses from PK-12 Virtual Academy. Please check the graduation requirements at https://www.pk12virtual.com/team/high-school
  • What is the Full-Time Learning Refund Policy?
    You must complete and pass each course in the program with 65% or higher within 10 months of your start date. IF YOU DO NOT pass a course, You will Not get the credit for that course.   • What kind of test prep do you offer?
    We offer Math and English at all grade levels. Sessions are on on one with the teacher. We have offer virtual and in-person classes. SAT/ACT/GED/ASVAB/HSPT/ Nursing/ AP/ State exams/ Teacher Certification/and much more.....
  • What subject matter tutoring do you offer?
    We offer tutoring in all subjects and at all grade levels.
